In 2005, Real Bird Homes founder,
Gary Springer, temporarily discontinued manufacture of wildlife products to become
the Executive Director of The North American Bluebird Society.
After approximately one year, Springer resigned his position at the
North American Bluebird Society over differences in
opinion over the direction the organization should take.
Production of Real Bird
Homes was further delayed because he took a sabbatical to write a
book. The content of the book may seem quite removed from his
bearings as a naturalist. But, because we're animals dependent
upon natural nutrition for survival, the connection between his work
as naturalist and nutritionist is actually closer than it
seems.
Furthermore, we must focus on the health of our own bodies so
we can better accomplish our objectives of preserving the health of our wild

The Chalet on the left is the standard Chalet
The Chalet on the right has a second roof to keep the nest box
cooler and dryer. Inquire about this excellent optional feature that makes a
huge difference in the comfort of the birds in hot and wet weather, and,
that helps the nest box last longer. The
predator guard was removed to help the Red-Headed Woodpecker access the bird
house where it raised two young birds. (Click on the picture for a great
